Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of RCA 25250RE1 2-Line DECT 6.0 Cordless Speakerphone with Digital Answering System and Caller IDCustomer Review: It would be hard to design a phone this bad... Summary: 1 Stars
I'm not big into writing reviews, so you know the product has to be really bad or really good when I do start writing something about it.
This is REALLY bad.
Our company sent this system to all our store because the previous system was two years old. When we were done, we ended up replacing a 2-line system that worked fine with a 2-line system that wasn't worth the box it was shipped in (RCA Visys 25250RE1).
This system is pretty much worthless in every possible way.
- The user interface is unbelievably ill-thought-out.
- You need to listen to an entire message before you can delete it.
- The menus are tedious to go through, and you need to select line-1 or line-2 for everything you do. If I want to look at the caller ID, for example, I need to select caller ID, then go through all the calls on line 2, then I can get to the calls on line 1, and if I choose to go back at any point...it starts the whole process over. The same goes for turning up the ringer (separate for both lines), listening to voicemail (separate for both lines), same thing for programming numbers into the directory (separate for both lines and a pain to do), and on and on. The strange thing here is that when a call comes in, it takes up both lines on the system?
Back to the review, the overall operation is also very bad.
- The sound quality is not good at all.
- On incoming calls, the call rings three times for the caller before it rings on the phone here. If you answer it on the second or third ring, the caller has usually hung up because the phone has been ringing forever (at least 5-6 rings).
- The ring is obnoxious and not at a tone you can hear if you aren't close to it.
- The look is neither fun nor professional, and actually looks cheap when you take it out of the packaging.
- If you try to answer a call that has gone to voicemail, it doesn't disconnect voicemail but it does connect you to the caller. What that means is that your entire conversation is recorded in a voice message, which means you have to listen to the whole conversation before you can delete it (see above gripe regarding voicemail)...
- The list of bad things could go on and on. It actually seems like there were no product testers on this product!
Bottom line, the phone doesn't work well, isn't easy to use, doesn't look or sound good, and stinks in every way it could. The one good thing is that it made me appreciate my old system we had and plug that back in even though the boss said not to. Yikes.
DO NOT GET THIS SYSTEM IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER CHOICES...INCLUDING STRINGS AND CUPS TIED TOGETHER!!!
